Read the price comparison correctly
MyThesis lists the first holding free and $4.99 per additional holding each month. The table uses (holdings minus one) × $4.99. At five, MyThesis is $0.04/month cheaper than Helm Pro; at ten, Helm Pro is $24.91/month cheaper. Prices alone do not establish equal features or better research.
Helm also offers $149/year billed annually, compared with $240 for twelve $20 monthly payments. No annual MyThesis discount is assumed. At one thesis, compare the free options before paying.
Both products need an evidence check
MyThesis publicly demonstrates thesis assessments and links example alerts to SEC filings. Our earlier description that it only named sources was too broad. We have not tested its paid alert history or established whether all findings include quotations.
Use the same stock and the same written reason in each tool. Open a finding, check the source and reporting date, and decide whether the evidence actually tests your reason. A source link, a quotation and a correct interpretation are three different things; none proves the others.
What starts monitoring in Helm
Choose a stock, write or edit the reasons you own it, confirm those reasons, and enable tracking. Connecting a brokerage or importing holdings alone does not start thesis monitoring. Checks run on a schedule; a new finding or immediate alert is not guaranteed.
